Plain English, no lawyer-speak. If you landed here from a demo page or an email we sent you, this is the page that explains it.
Email hello@bossbooks.app and we delete your demo page and your details the same working day. You don't have to give a reason, and you won't hear from us again. Replying "no" or "remove" to any email we send does exactly the same thing.
BossBooks is run by Lewis Hull, a sole trader trading as BossBooks. We build booking websites and own-branded apps for barbershops.

We are the "data controller" for the details described below, which means we're the ones responsible for them and the ones you complain to.
If we've built you a demo page, we did not get your details from you. We collected them from information your business already publishes in public — normally your listing on a booking platform such as Fresha, Booksy, Nearcut or Treatwell, or your own website. We're telling you this because the law says you're entitled to know when information about you was gathered from somewhere other than you directly (UK GDPR, Article 14).
What that usually amounts to:
We don't collect or want anything about your customers, your takings, or anything that isn't already on public display.
We rely on legitimate interests — reaching out to businesses we genuinely think we can help, using information those businesses publish publicly for the purpose of being contacted by customers and suppliers. We've weighed that against your privacy: we use business contact details only, we keep the amount of information small, we don't sell or share it, we mark demo pages so search engines don't index them, and we delete everything the moment you ask. If you'd like a copy of that assessment, just ask and we'll send it.
A demo page at bossbooks.app/demo/… is an unofficial mock-up we built to show what your own booking app could look like. It isn't affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to your shop or your current booking platform. It carries a noindex tag, so it won't show up in Google. Anything you upload while playing with the builder — your logo, photos of your team — stays in your browser and is never sent to us or stored anywhere.
Nobody, in the sense that matters: we don't sell, rent or share your details with anyone for their own marketing. The only third parties involved are the ordinary services we use to run the business — Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (website hosting) and Google Workspace (email). They process data on our instructions only.
If you tell us you're not interested, we keep only the bare minimum needed to make sure we never contact you again, and delete the rest. Otherwise we review our prospect list periodically and clear out anything we're no longer actively using.
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop using it altogether — including objecting to legitimate interests. Email hello@bossbooks.app and we'll sort it, free, normally the same day and always within a month. If you're not happy with how we've handled it, you're entitled to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
If you're a member of the public who books an appointment through a barbershop that runs on BossBooks, your details belong to that shop — they decide how they're used, and we simply hold the data for them. Speak to your barbershop in the first instance, or contact us and we'll point you the right way.
